Remains found in Idaho County believed to be missing man from 2010

Remains were found Sunday in Idaho County and the sheriff's office believes they belong to a man that was reported missing in 2010.

A hunter found what looked to be remains of a human above Bernard Creek. The hunter found other items in the area, including a pack containing camping equipment and a digital camera.

The Idaho County Sheriff's Office and coroner were taken by jet boat to the mouth of Bernard Creek by Killgore Adventures. They hiked about one mile in, where they found the remains.

In September of 2010, Todd W. Hofflander was reported missing and one of his last known locations was in the same area.

Officers found photographs off an SD card in the pack that was found. They believe the pictures belonged to Hofflander. ICSO said everything found at the scene indicates they were Hofflander.

However, further testing will be done to the remains.
